COPS have launched a probe after a woman was allegedly raped near an allotment.

The reported attack occurred in broad daylight next to a park in Broughton, Buckinghamshire, on Monday evening.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, was discovered by a member of the public at around 6pm near Kemsley Crescent allotments.

Thames Valley Police said no arrests had been made and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Inspector Rachel Wheaton, of Milton Keynes CID, confirmed a “full investigation” had been launched.

She said: “The victim is being supported by specially trained officers

“This incident has occurred early in the evening on Monday, and I am appealing to anybody who witnessed any suspicious activity.

“At this stage, we have been unable to obtain a description of the offender from any witnesses or the victim.

“We are urgently appealing for anybody who has any information to contact us.

“I fully understand the concern incidents such as this will have in our local community.

“I would like to reassure the public that we are investigating this incident as a priority.”

It comes after a 28-year-old man was arrested by cops last night in connection with a separate alleged rape in a popular park.

He was said to have been “armed with a gun” during the horrific attack at Heaton Mersey Park in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

According to Greater Manchester Police (GMP), the victim was approached by the man whilst he was holding a firearm.

He then forced her to go with him to the park where he raped her before fleeing on foot, it is alleged.
