POLICE have launched an urgent manhunt after a pensioner was violently robbed at a tram stop.
The woman, in her late sixties, had her black holdall bag snatched away from her at a tram stop in Croydon, London, on Wednesday July 30.
Police said the thug who robbed the pensioner walked past as she was waiting for the tram and violently ripped the bag from the her hand.
The elderly lady was pulled to the ground by the force of the robber’s sudden assault and suffered bruising as a result.
After the robber got hold of the stunned pensioners bag he fled towards East Croydon station.
Police have now released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the violent robbery.
Anyone who recognises the individual is asked to contact the police as a matter of urgency.
Officers believe he may have information that could help their investigation.
The British Transport Police (BTP) said: “Anyone who recognises them is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 185 of 30 July.
“Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
