Woman ‘sexually assaulted by unknown man’ at bus stop as CCTV released in urgent hunt

A WOMAN was allegedly sexually assaulted by an unknown man at a bus stop, as CCTV footage is released in an urgent hunt.

The unnamed victim was approached from behind by the stranger at around 2.15pm in Hastings, East Sussex, on February 12.

The man then “sexually assaulted her by touching”, said Sussex Police.

Cops are now searching for a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.

In CCTV footage released by the force, he is seen wearing a chequered shirt over a black hoodie, with a black cap.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers investigating have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak with in connection with the investigation.

“He was wearing a red and black chequered overshirt over a black hooded top with white straps, a black baseball cap, beige trousers and a white belt.”

The victim was reportedly left shaken by the incident, which took place in the Priory Meadow area of the town.

She has received support from specially-trained officers.
