A BEAUTY spot has been taped off after the body of an unidentified woman was discovered near a canal.
Cops blocked off the Marple Aqueduct in Stockport after being called to the scene this afternoon.
The woman’s death is reportedly not being treated as suspicious at this time.
Emergency services raced to the scene after the tragic discovery was made on the grass by the canal.
Police are attempting to establish the woman’s identity and the circumstances surrounding her death.
The canal footpath has been taped off with public access restricted.
Eyewitnesses said fire and rescue crews were spotted on scene, the public are being asked to avoid the area while the investigation gets underway.
The Romiley & Marple community first responders wrote on social media: “Please avoid the Aqueduct in Marple whilst we deal with an incident.”
