THE World Matchplay is here with many of darts’ biggest names competing in Blackpool.

Last year, Luke Humphries secured the title for the first time in his illustrious career after beating Michael van Gerwen 18-15 in a thirlling final.

Cool Hand returns to the Winter Gardens as No1 seed, looking to become only the fourth player in history to retain the Blackpool crown.

Luke Littler also features in the star-studded 32-player field as he looks to add the sport‘s second-biggest ranking title to his ever-expanding trophy cabinet.

Last year, the Nuke had a debut to forget, following a shock first round exit to eventual finalist Van Gerwen.

Littler will be hoping for a much-improved performance this time around, and the colossal prize fund will certainly catch his and the other 31 players’ attention.
