YORK CITY have sacked manager Adam Hinshelwood just four games into the new season.

The National League outfit are yet to taste defeat this term.

But Hinshelwood also managed just one victory in that time while drawing his three other games.

York City have now confirmed the father of Brighton and England U21 star Jack Hinshelwood has left the club with immediate effect.

Coach Cam Morrison has also departed the LNER Community Stadium, with York City currently 12th in the table.

And former Worthing boss Gary Elphick, who was Hinshelwood’s assistant, will take charge until a full-time replacement is found.

Co-chairs Matt and Julie-Anne Uggla said: “We would like to thank Adam for everything he has done for the club since his arrival early last year.

“We wish him nothing but the very best for the future.

“We look forward to announcing the new manager in due course for this next chapter for the club.”
