The picture was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, by New Zealand-based nanotech engineer Dr Michelle Dickinson.

She captioned it: “You can only see this optical illusion if you shake your head (I’m serious).”

If you can’t see the cat, some people suggest holding the image further away from you.

People went wild for the optical illusion.

One penned: “Here I am shaking my head like a crazy person at my work desk.”

Another savvy puzzle solver commented: “Just shake the phone. It’s easier than your head.”

“Or zoom out,” advised another.

Someone else joked: “Shaking my phone also worked, after my wife told me I looked like a dork for shaking my head.”

If this was too easy, or too hard – no shame – then why not try these other puzzles.
