ALEX SCOTT confronted Dan Walker over his comments about Football Focus at a charity do, it’s alleged.

Former Arsenal and England defender Scott, 38, and ex-Football Focus host Walker, 46, were involved in a social media spat last month.

Walker kicked it off by responding to reports of the show’s viewership declining by more than a third since he was replaced by Scott.

In a tweet he said he found it “hard” to watch the show “struggling”.

Scott replied with a meme that simply read: “Interesting”.

Walker then added: “I’m not saying you haven’t Alex.

“It’s a saturated market and it’s hard work every week. I hope you have a good show today.”

Later in the day, Scott then posted saying “viewing figures double that of anything on TV at that time yesterday”.

According to The Mail, the broadcasters came together for a “lively exchange” at The Legends of Football dinner at the Grosvenor Hotel in London.

Scott is said to have “made a bee-line” for Walker before they hashed things out for “several minutes”.

The discussion ended on a positive note as they parted ways with a hug.

Walker spent 12 years hosting Football Focus, before he was replaced by Scott in 2021.

During his final year presenting the show, the average weekly audience in August was 827,000.

This dropped marginally to 809,000 in 2021, before falling dramatically to 599,000 last year.

And the numbers fell again at the start of the new campaign, with figures of 564,000 for this August.

The Legends of Football dinner raised money for charity Nordoff and Robbins which provides music therapy to people living with autism, dementia and other neurological conditions.

Those honoured at the event included Chelsea Women’s manager Emma Hayes and Arsenal legend Ian Wright.
