ANTHONY JOSHUA’s potential next fight has been hailed as a “match made in heaven”.

The British boxer has not fought since being knocked out by Daniel Dubois in the IBF world heavyweight title fight in October 2024.

AJ, 35, could be heading back into the ring early in 2026 with a bout in Africa.

Sports promoter Ezekiel Adamu has claimed that the Watford brawler is being lined up for a historic fight.

He has claimed that Nigeria would host the two-time heavyweight champion.

The next high-profile fight scheduled for Lagos, Nigeria is between Brandon Glanton vs Marcus Browne on October 1.

Adamu has insisted that discussions have taken place between himself and AJ.

He has claimed that AJ and his team are keen for a fight in Nigeria.

He said: “We are going to get Joshua.

“I spoke with him and his team, they said to me ‘If we had an offer from Nigeria it’s a match made in heaven’.”

“We are looking at Q1 next year. The Nigerian government is involved in this as well. That’s the key really.”

The development comes just a week after AJ called out Tyson Fury for a fight.

He insisted he would “punch Gypsy King’s head in” if they could finally agree to a grudge match.

He has also admitted he would accept a challenge from rising star Moses Ituama “in a heartbeat”.

But the bout could hinge on it being for the world heavyweight title.

AJ has previoulsy revealed that he would love to have a fight in the continent of Africa.

He would follow in the footsteps of icon Muhammad Ali, who challenged George Foreman in Africa in 1974.
