SCOTT BROWN has revealed that he once hit his assistant manager in the head with a sausage roll!
The former Celtic star enjoyed a 20-year playing career, during which he captained the Hoops – as well as the Scotland side.

But Brown, who now manages Championship club Ayr United, has told the story of when he hit former Scotland U21’s boss Maurice Malpas on the head with a sausage roll.
Brown joined up with former Celtic and Scotland teammate Charlie Mulgrew on his golf channel ‘Mulgrew Pitch to Par’ alongside another former Celt in Paul Slane.
The former Celtic defender remembered the first time he met Brown during an U21’s national team camp.
He said on the episode: “When I first met you in Scotland U21’s, he skelped the manager with a roll.”
Brown was quick to correct his former Celtic teammate and confirmed it was actually a sausage roll!
Mulgrew added: “I don’t know what is worse, he was meant to be the leader, Maurice Malpas, and he hit him on the top of the head with a spoon!”
Brown remembered the moment well, saying: “We were all messing about right, and Mo’s came in and he’s sat down and I’ve went to launch a sausage roll at one of the lads and it’s just skelped Mo on the side of the head.
“Mo’s bald right, you actually heard it slap , I’m thinking ‘what’ve I just done’.
“I was sitting down and see when you go red, I’ve went over to Mo and I’ve went ‘Look, look, look we were all messing about’ and he said it’s fine.”
“Mo’s went away to get his dessert and I’m just sitting there eating away, and he’s just went like that on the back of my head with a spoon, see that one where you just sit there and take it and be brave but the tears were almost coming out my eyes.
“It’s still not knocked any sense into me though!”
Despite the incident, Brown went on to have a successful career in the national team.
He was capped 55 times for Scotland between 2005 and 2017, even captaining the side during his spell.
