The Dons, proud Scottish Cup winners against Celtic back in May, sit rock bottom of the Scottish Premiership table with a solitary point to their name after four matches.

And what’s more, they’ve yet to trouble the scorers in their four Premiership contests to date.
At least Jimmy Thelin’s men have a Premier Sports Cup quarter final clash to look forward to this weekend at home vs Motherwell but lose that and it doesn’t really bear thinking about for Dons fans despite a season which promised so much.
And it only pours salt in the wounds that one of the advertising hoardings above the old Pittodrie main stand seems to inadvertantly mock their problems to date.
It reads: “Tackling waste with Aberdeen FC to meet our NET ZERO GOALS.”
And as worthy as the cause is, fans can’t help wish the board was worded slightly differently.
One wrote: “Be even funner if it wasn’t so true.”
In fact, net zero is a KIND interpretation of the Dons’ goals for column, as it doesn’t take into account the five goals they five goals they have actually shipped for a -5 goal difference.
