THE sniper who attacked an ICE facility in Texas searched for the horrific video of Charlie Kirk’s assassination and sought to commit “real terror” against immigration officials, according to the FBI director.
Joshua Jahn, 29, methodically gathered evidence about ICE facilities in Dallas in the weeks leading up to Wednesday’s attack that left one detainee dead and two others wounded.

FBI Director Kash Patel revealed on Thursday that Jahn downloaded official government documents that contained a list of Department of Homeland Security facilities in the Dallas area.
Between Tuesday and the day of the attack, Jahn conducted multiple searches of ballistics and the gruesome assassination video of political activist Charlie Kirk, Patel said.
Kirk, 31, was murdered in cold-blood while hosting an outdoor student debate event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on September 10.
Graphic video from the shooting showed the horrific moment a single bullet struck Kirk in the neck as he responded to a question by an attendee.
Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested for Kirk’s murder and charged with seven felonies, including aggravated murder, and is facing the death penalty.
‘REAL TERROR’
A month before Jahn unleashed a hail of bullets against immigration officials, he searched “apps that tracked the presence of ICE agents.”
Patel said that one of the handwritten notes, allegedly written by Jahn, recovered by investigators read, “Hopefully this will give ICE agents real terror, to think.”
Another message allegedly read, “Is there a sniper with AP rounds on that roof?”
“Further accumulated evidence to this point indicated a high degree of pre-attack planning,” Patel said.
POLITICAL ATTACK
Perched on a nearby rooftop and armed with a rifle, Jahn indiscriminately opened fire at an ICE field office in Dallas and a van parked outside the facility on Wednesday morning.
Three detainees were injured in the shooting, one fatally.
The detainees were all in a van and at least one of the victims ran out of the vehicle, fleeing inside the ICE facility seeking help, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
Authorities said Jahn died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on a nearby rooftop.
A bullet found near the suspect’s body had the words “anti-ICE” written on it, a photo released by Patel showed.

Vice President JD Vance condemned the attack on federal agents, calling Jahn a “violent left-wing extremist” who was “politically motivated” to go after law enforcement officials.
But Jahn’s older brother, Noah, told NBC News that his brother was not especially interested in politics.
“He didn’t have strong feelings about ICE as far as I knew,” Noah told the outlet.
Noah called his younger brother “unique,” but added, “He wasn’t interested in politics on either side as far as I knew.”
The brothers grew up as members of the Boy Scouts, as pictures of Jahn showed him in uniform alongside his father.
Jahn’s mother, Sharon, railed against gun rights in Texas years before her son’s disturbing attack against ICE agents.
Sharon penned a lengthy letter to Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn and Governor Greg Abbott and blamed them for the Uvalde school shooting in May 2022, which left 21 people dead, including 19 children.
“How does it make you feel that your action to open up gun laws is responsible for the killing of 21 more people,” Sharon wrote a day after the massacre three years ago.
“Do you secretly sit in front of a tv and smile a demented smile?”
Sharon accused the politicians of getting “precious blood money” from gun lobbyists and urged them to “stand up” to the National Rifle Association.
