DISGRACED Baroness Michelle Mone was seen in a swanky restaurant weeks before a PPE firm linked to her was ordered to repay £122million.

The 53-year-old was all smiles in upmarket Alambique near Faro in Portugal, in a designer dress and wearing gold jewellery.

Staff were seen fussing over the peer and husband Doug Barrowman on a terrace table at the Algarve restaurant, where the most expensive champagne is £1,000 a bottle.

A source said: “Michelle looked really happy and glamorous as she sashayed into the restaurant.

“It was just her and Doug on the night and the restaurant manager recognised them and gave them a complimentary glass of bubbly.

“You wouldn’t have thought she had this High Court hearing hanging over her.

“It’s a high-end place so a good meal and drinks will set you back a fair bit. And she was carrying a designer handbag and seemed carefree.”

Alambique serves £60 grilled tiger prawns and a grilled French rack of lamb for £52.

The restaurant is popular with celebrities including Holly Willoughby and Dragon’s Den star Duncan Bannatyne.

Mone and Barrowman dined there in August, weeks after failing to give evidence at a High Court trial in June.

On Wednesday a judge ruled that his firm PPE Medpro had breached a Government contract by supplying 25 million medical gowns which were not sterile during the pandemic.

Mone had lobbied for the company and helped it go into a “VIP lane”.

PPE Medpro, which is being put into administration, is still under investigation by the National Crime Agency.
