FIVE eco protesters who stormed a performance of Les Miserables have been spared jail.

The Just Stop Oil zealots carried banners on-stage and chanted to interrupt the musical on October 5.

The Sondheim Theatre in West London lost an estimated £60,000 from cancelling the show and paying out refunds to the audience of around 1,000.

Hannah Taylor, 23, Lydia Gribbin, 28, Hanan Ameur, 22, Noah Crane, 18, and Poppy Bliss, 19 — who had all bought tickets for the show — were found guilty of aggravated trespass in April.

Gribbin and Crane were also found guilty of causing £2,000 worth of criminal damage.

All five got 12-month community orders yesterday at Westminster magistrates’ court

They must also carry out unpaid work and rehabilitation activity requirements, as well as paying costs of nearly £400 each.
