It comes as Brits faced a day of travel misery after serious delays on the country’s busiest motorway as a vehicle burst into flames.

Traffic was held on the M25 clockwise as emergency crews tackled the blaze.

Drivers were stopped between J22, St Albans, and J23, A1(M), while fire and rescue services worked at the scene.

Motorists experienced delays of around one hour beyond expected journey times, National Highways said.
