CONOR GALLAGHER is an “amazing character” and is looking to “raise the standards” at Chelsea, according to Frank Lampard.
The midfielder has started every Premier League game this season under Mauricio Pochettino.

In the absences of Reece James and Ben Chilwell, Gallagher has captained the Blues in their last three Prem matches.
And his former boss Lampard can see why.
Appearing on Monday Night Football, the 45-year-old heaped praise on Gallagher.
Chatting to Jamie Carragher and host David Jones, Lampard said of the England international: “He is an amazing character and big talent scoring goals from midfield.
“As a manager you see things that those on the outside of the club don’t and when you talk about players wanting to train at a level every day.
“Sometimes you pick a team and people say why do you keep playing Conor Gallagher?
“Because of his desire to play for the club, the desire to raise standards and train hard.
“When I went back to the club he trained every day like he really wanted to show something. Being part-time captain gives him a chance to really kick on with his Chelsea career.”

Lampard watched on from the studio as his old side grabbed a much-needed 2-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Mykhailo Mudryk gave the Blues an 18th minute lead, before Armando Broja made it two just seconds later.
Speaking after the game, Gallagher beamed: “It’s obviously a really proud moment and time for me to captain the club the few times I have.
“You know how much it means to me and how much I want to do well at Chelsea. I have supported them my whole life and to captain them is amazing.
“Hopefully I can continue to do that.
“I have tried to be more disciplined and a leader on and off the pitch as well. We are trying our best to play well together and understand each others game.”
Chelsea’s win last night saw them rise to 11th in the table, although they still find themselves eight points off the top four.
They are next due to be in action on Saturday when they travel to winless Burnley.
