COPS have launched a frantic search for a missing Scots woman who vanished at the weekend.

Georgia MacLennan, 28, was reported missing on Sunday afternoon.

She was last seen outside a property in the Grimshader Lochs area of the Isle of Lewis at around 4.45pm on Sunday.

The area is located on the island’s south east coast.

It sits around eight miles from Stornoway, where Georgia lives.

Police released a statement on Sunday evening after the alarm was raised over her disappearance.

Officers leading up the search say they are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare after she vanished.

Cops have released a description of Georgia and urged anyone who may have spotted her to come forward with information.

Georgia was last seen wearing a grey top, grey gym leggings, and black Nike trainers.

She is described as white, with a slim build and blonde hair.

A land and sea search has been launched, with police and coastguard teams scouring the area where she was last seen.

Inspector Sam Grashon, leading the search, said: “We are urging anyone with information on Georgia’s whereabouts to come forward immediately.

“If Georgia herself sees this appeal, we ask her to please get in touch.

“Anyone who can assist with our enquiries should contact police on 101, quoting incident 2569 of 12 October, 2025.”

The Isle of Lewis is the northern area of Lewis and Harris, the largest island of the Western Isles or Outer Hebrides in Scotland.

The Grimshader Lochs area is a popular destination for nature lovers and dog walkers on the island.
