A VICTIM of a suspected XL Bully attack was forced to climb over a fence and leap into a river to escape the crazed dog.
The broad daylight mauling left the man hospitalised with police now appealing for information to track down the owner.

The dog reportedly bit the victim during the attack on Gander Lane in Tewkesbury at around 9.40pm on Monday July 21.
The victim was only able to get away from the dog by climbing over a fence and jumping into the nearby water.
He suffered bites to his arms and legs and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The owner of the dog left the scene and is yet to be found with cops continuing to scour CCTV footage.
Police described him as being white, around 5ft 7ins and of a stocky build.
He was in his 30s and was wearing a pale T-shirt at the time.
He walked off in the direction of Priors Park following the incident.
Police are trying to trace the dog owner so he can provide them with an account of what happened.
It follows a spate of dangerous XL Bully attacks in recent weeks.
On Wednesday, a seven-year-old boy was left with serious injuries after he was mauled by a dangerously out-of-control dog.
The youth was savaged by his own family pet in the kitchen of his home.
The XL Bully has since been seized by cops.
Another dog attack was then reported to South Yorkshire Police just a few hours later.
Police rushed to a house in Doncaster where another child had been attacked by their family dog at home.
A nine-year-old was found with injuries to his ear after the family Shih Tzu mauled him, officers seized the small dog.
