Surrey fire and rescue are currently at the scene alongside National Highways Traffic officers who are trying to release two lanes of trapped traffic.

National Highways said they don’t expect the motorway to clear until later around 5pm afternoon, September 22.

There are long delays of nearly 30 minutes between Guildford junction’s 11 and 10.

A diversion route is in place taking drivers from J10 onto the A3 towards London and then joining the A240.

Drivers can rejoin the M25 at Reigate Hill Interchage.
