A DISABLED woman was banned from every Asda store in the UK after failing to provide an ID that doesn’t exist.

Elanor Maxey, 32, was asked to provide her service dog’s licence when at a store in Bexleyheath, Dartford, leading to a heated row with the security guard.

Despite only popping to grab some food, Elanor ended up receiving a nationwide ban from all Asda stores on October 20.

The Exclusion Notice stated the reason behind the ban was refusing to show security the dog’s service card, being rude to staff and violating privacy of colleagues.

Elanor shared the shocking footage of the dispute on TikTok which has since garnered 108,400 views on the platform with a slew of horrified comments condemning the incident.

She told The Sun: “It is sadly a a daily occurrence that disabled people face.

“I’ve faced thousands of comments and messages of people who have faced the same but didn’t record it.”

Asda has since apologised for the incident and rescinded the ban, allowing Elani back into her local Asda.

A spokesperson for Asda said: “We have apologised to Ms Maxey for her experience at our Bexleyheath store. This falls short of the welcoming culture we strive for at Asda.

“We are clear that assistance dogs are welcome in all of our stores, and we will be reminding our colleagues of this policy as a matter of urgency.”

In the video the argument starts with the head of security demanding to see a licence for the working dog and refusing to give her name.

The security guard calls for Duty Manager as Elanor refused to move to the foyer after not presenting a service ID – something that isn’t a legal requirement.

The Asda worker then twice tried to snatch the phone away once she realised the altercation was being recorded.

Despite wearing a camera, she asked the shopper: “Would you like it if I recorded you?”

In the TikTok caption she wrote: “Today Genie and I have now been officially banned from every Asda in Britain simply because my didn’t present her “Service ID” (something that doesn’t exist).

“‘I also was asked for my dog licence… something that hasn’t ever existed within my lifetime! They also claim I was rude.”

The distressing footage ends as the disabled woman asks for space saying the argument is causing her pain – she later said she suffered a panic attack but was able to calm down.

A social media account made for working dog Genie wrote: “I am disgusted in this day and age Asda have not trained their staff properly to know the law surrounding working girls and boys like me and how vital we are in supporting our humans.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Elanor has experienced an a disagreement due to her disability.

On June 6 she was ‘terrified’ after being overcharged by a taxi-driver in Lincolnshire for using a mobility scooter, who then allegedly ‘attacked her.’

The disabled woman was left bruised and Genie was also apparently affected by the outburst, and needed retraining.
