LUCAS DIGNE was left with a golf-sized lump above his eye after appearing to take a boot to the face from team-mate Emiliano Martinez.
The Aston Villa star was defending a cross against Everton when a loose ball in the penalty area saw a goalmouth scramble ensue.

Digne received treatment after a blow to the head
He was left with a huge bruise above his eye
And as Digne moved to try and defend the goal he fell over goalkeeper Martinez – back in net today after a move to Manchester United failed to materialise this summer.
The defender appeared to take a whack on the forehead with a flailing Martinez boot.
Medics rushed on to the pitch to treat the Frenchman.
And TV cameras picked up a massive bruise which instantly materialised above his right eyebrow.
The 32-year-old was taken off the pitch as part of the medical procedures when treating head wounds.
However, he was swiftly able to return to the action on the pitch with the score still deadlocked at 0-0, before completing the match with the clean sheet preserved in a goalless affair.
Digne, who joined Villa from Everton in 2022, started the first two games of the season for Unai Emery‘s side before dropping to the bench in week three for ex-Chelsea star Ian Maatsen.
But after a 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in that game, Digne then returned to the starting XI to face the Toffees.
