THE summer transfer window will close two days EARLIER than in 2023 after Prem chiefs struck a deal with European counterparts.
Last summer the window shut at 11pm on September 1, with deadline day deals including Cole Palmer’s move from Manchester City to Chelsea and Brennan Johnson leaving Nottingham Forest to join Spurs.

September 1 is a Sunday this year, meaning it was expected the deadline would be put back 24 hours to the following day.
Instead, Prem chiefs have confirmed the summer window will open on June 14 and close exactly 11 weeks later, at 11pm on Friday August 30.
The winter window, however, will be extended past the end of January and close at 11pm on Monday February 3.
No players signed after noon on deadline day will be eligible to play in that weekend’s Prem fixtures.
A League spokesman confirmed the decision came after Prem chiefs discussed the window date with the other Big Five leagues in Spain, Germany, Italy and France, as well as the EFL.
The spokesman said: “To ensure harmonisation with the major leagues in Europe.
“The closing dates were set following discussions with the EFL, DFL, Serie A, La Liga, and LFP, who will all close their Summer and Winter windows on 30 August and 3 February respectively.”
The move is expected to reduce the last-minute rush and provide a clearer picture of squad compositions before the season gets into full swing.

28 signings were made by top-flight clubs, 13 of which were loans, while over half of the clubs did not spend a penny.
