Man, 26, riding e-scooter is killed in crash with car on dual carriageway near Newport – as teen also suffers injuries

A e-scooter rider has been killed after a crash with a car that also injured a teenager also suffered injuries.

A blue Vauxhall Corsa and an e-scooter collided on the A4042 between Abergavenny and Newport, south Wales, at around 12.45am.

Police rushed to the crash along with Welsh Ambulance Service paramedics.

The rider of the e-scooter, a 26-year-old man from Newport, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

His next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specialist officers.

The driver of the car, an 18-year-old from Pontypool, received minor injuries.

Officers investigating the collision want to speak to any motorists who were travelling on the A4042 between 12.15am and 12.45am on September 30.
