MANCHESTER CITY have been fined around £800,000 after accepting nine breaches of a Premier League rule.
Pep Guardiola‘s side have reached a sanction agreement with Prem chiefs over the issue.

Rule L.33 dictates that Prem teams must kick off, or restart games for the second-half, in a punctual manner or face being fined.
Each offence carries with it a higher fine that the one previous, with City’s first breach seeing them slapped with a £40k punishment and their ninth worth £190k.
A Prem statement on the matter read: “The Premier League and Manchester City FC have entered into a sanction agreement after the club accepted it had breached Premier League Rule L.33 in relation to kick-off and re-start obligations.
“The breaches occurred in nine Premier League matches during the 2024/25 season.
“Rules relating to kick-offs and re-starts help ensure the organisation of the competition is set at the highest possible professional standard and provides certainty to fans and participating clubs.
“It also ensures the broadcast of every Premier League match is kept to schedule.”
Among the nine matches in which City broke Rule L.33 was their Manchester derby defeat to United at the Etihad last December.
On that occasion they were late to kick off both in the first half and after the interval.

What is Rule L.33?
The Premier League’s Rule L.33 states: “Any Club which, without good reason, causes to be delayed either the kick-off of a League Match from the time fixed or the re-start after the half-time interval shall be dealt with.”
The Premier League went on to confirm that City had “apologised for the breaches”.
Club chiefs have also reminded players and staff of their responsibility to adhere to Rule L.33.
In a separate issue, City still face 130 Financial Fair Play charges.
Club bosses vehemently deny the charges, with the case still looming.

Ipswich (a) – 2 minute 22 seconds delay to second-half, £210,000 fine
