MASON GREENWOOD has left the door open for an England return after rejecting a call-up from Jamaica.
The Marseille forward, 23, declared his intention to switch allegiances last summer.

And Steve McLaren was hoping to include Greenwood in Jamaica’s squad for World Cup qualifiers against Bermuda and Trinidad & Tobago.
The former Manchester United youngster has already obtained his Jamaican passport.
But he is yet to pen a letter confirming his allegiance away from England.
And Greenwood has kept the door open for the Three Lions by deciding to turn down McLaren’s call.
The former England boss admitted he was disappointed, but remains hopeful that Greenwood will come round in time for next month’s internationals against Curacao and Bermuda.
McLaren said: “We acquired a passport and we expected him to be coming to this camp but in a conversation with his family, he’s not going to commit at this time to anybody.
“It’s a little bit disappointing, we probably have to be more patient. We will keep pursuing him because I know from my conversations with Mason that he loves Jamaica.
“He wants to concentrate on club football and not commit to an international team at the moment. He’s taking his time over that. Who knows in the future?”
“I get that he loves Jamaica, he respects Jamaica. As soon as that decision was made and he couldn’t commit, you move on. You don’t harp on it and don’t go, ‘What if this?’ or ‘what if that?’ — you move on and control what you can control.
“It’s a disappointment for everybody because he would have been a big asset and he would have come here and enjoyed his football.”
Greenwood has made just one appearance for England, winning his single cap in 2020’s Nations League win against Iceland.
However, his first call-up ended with him being sent home along with Phil Foden for breaching Covid quarantine rules.
Greenwood qualifies for Jamaica through his grandfather and is eligible for an international switch due to playing in less than three competitive matches before the age of 21.
In October 2022, Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, coercive control and ABH.
Those charges were ultimately dropped in February 2023.
Greenwood then left boyhood club Manchester United for a loan move to Spanish side Getafe.
He joined French outfit Marseille in summer 2024 and has so far scored 23 goals in 39 games.
