THE British legal system has spoken – the owners of The Bell Hotel in Epping have breached planning regulations by housing asylum seekers.
After months of protest, the Town and Country Planning Order of 1987 was calmly unequivocal — that is not what this hotel was built for.
The owners of The Bell Hotel in Epping have breached planning regulations by housing asylum seekers, a court has ruledAFP
And is there one single hotel in the UK that was built for the exclusive use of housing young men who have entered this country illegally?
Unlikely!
It is check-out time for the migrant hotel.
After the success in the High Court of Epping Forest District Council, dozens of councils — including Labour authorities — are bringing legal challenges against some of the 210 migrant hotels housing around 32,000 asylum seekers that have appeared in every corner of the land.
The migrant hotel was always a jaw-droppingly stupid idea — dumping large numbers of (mostly) young men from alien cultures into peaceful communities that don’t want them.
The policy has led to civil unrest in previously peaceful areas.
And there is nothing racist about the locals in Epping who objected to having 138 asylum seekers parked on their doorstep amidst rising concern about the sexual harassment of women and young girls.
Please tell me — why should the British people put up with this crap?
Let it be said, not every asylum seeker is a sex pest. But all of them come from cultures with different attitudes to our own.
It is time for Keir Starmer, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper and this hopelessly incompetent Labour Government to get their fingers out.
Because these fantastically expensive migrant hotels are finished forever.
Migrant hotels have not worked — and will never work.
Meaningless soundbites about “smashing the gangs” do not work.
Dumping record numbers of asylum seekers on working-class communities far from Westminster will not work. Our socialist masters are going to have to come up with a more efficient way of housing illegal immigrants.
Build some barracks, Keir. Stop the not-so-small boats.
Stop bending the knee to the idea that the British are obliged to give bed, board and benefits to the rest of the world.
Because, for once in our lives, the justice system has not been used to reinforce the left-wing orthodoxy about human rights.

The European Convention on Human Rights means that foreign criminals can’t be deported if they might suffer in their destination country (Article 3), or if deportation might impact on their family life, such as having kiddies in the UK (Article 8).
The ECHR was created for noble reasons but it has been used and abused to treat the British people like the biggest bunch of mugs on the planet.
BREAKING POINT
But now our own old-fashioned civic law on planning permission has been used for the purpose it was always intended — protecting our people.
About time, too.
According to Home Office figures, the cost of housing asylum seekers between April 2024 and March 2025 was £6million every day.
And there was an even higher cost as this country’s natural tolerance was pushed to breaking point.
But The Bell Hotel ruling changes everything.
Breaking news — British people have their rights too.
WHEN I was a boy, my father worked at three jobs to get our family out of a rented flat and into our own home.
Who would do that these days? Once your home was your castle.
Now your home is a cash cow for a spiteful Labour Government that despises anyone who dares to want a better life.
First class stamp
LIKE every other woman in the Sixties, my mother must have had a major crush on Terence Stamp because she took me to the Romford Odeon at the wildly inappropriate age of eight to watch his Oscar-nominated US movie debut, Billy Budd.
Billy Budd is a tale of mutiny on the high seas. Rum, sodomy and the lash. Beautiful young cabin boys dangling from the mainbrace.

Completely inappropriate for an eight-year-old who had been left traumatised by Bambi.
But I loved it. Because no British actor ever lit up the big screen like Terence Stamp, the East End’s James Dean.
Stamp, who has died at the age of 87, did not have the career he deserved.
After dithering about accepting the role, he missed out on Alfie to his flatmate Michael Caine.
Terence then missed out on replacing Sean Connery as the new James Bond after scaring the producers with his radical ideas about remaking 007.
He declined the role of King Arthur in Camelot because he could not sing (the role went to Richard Harris, who couldn’t sing either).
Lesser actors took what should have been Stamp’s greatest roles.
But what nobody ever took was his place as our most charismatic film star, most notably as the gloriously swashbuckling redcoat Sergeant Troy in Far From The Madding Crowd, opposite Julie Christie, also Stamp’s co-star in The Kinks’ Waterloo Sunset.
Terry meets Julie – Waterloo Station – every Friday night.
And we know that classic Sixties song is about the definitive Sixties couple because that’s what Ray Davies told Stamp when he asked him.
Terence was a bona fide Cockney – born within the sound of Bow Bells – but in real life carried himself like an aristocrat. Even in the supermarket!
Like my mum, I loved him. Nobody ever made the working class seem so cool.
You still bare it well Sharon
It is 33 years since Sharon Stone’s now infamous scene in Basic InstinctAlamy
Sharon still cuts a spectacular figure side on in a new image for Harpers BazaarHarper’s Bazaar
CAN it really be 33 years since Sharon Stone crossed and uncrossed her legs in Basic Instinct and made Hollywood history?
When we consider the full-length side-on view of Sharon in Harper’s Bazaar, it feels like only yesterday.
Even at 67, Stone still gets hearts pounding, blood pressure soaring and the manufacturers of underwear wondering if their business is doomed.
Brilliant actress – especially as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s angel-facednemesis in Total Recall.
Wonderful writer – Sharon’s autobiography, The Beauty Of Living Twice, is one of the great Hollywood memoirs.
But perhaps above all else, did anyone ever misplace their pants with greater elegance than Sharon Stone?
Salute to top graft
THIS country has lost its work ethic.
The Covid pandemic made working from home – AKA skiving from home – socially acceptable.
Pauline Richards was the world’s longest serving KFC worker, and an inspirationSWNS
At the start of 2025, more than 200 companies confirmed they have made the permanent switch to a four-day working week.
Nearly three million of our fellow citizens are economically inactive due to long-term sickness.
So let us salute a lady called Pauline Richards, who has died of cancer at the age of 74.
Because Pauline knew what it meant to graft for a lifetime.
Pauline was the world’s longest-serving KFC worker. Known as Miss KFC, she worked as cleaner, cashier, supervisor, manager and team leader for the fast-food restaurant.
They don’t make them like Pauline any more. When her horse-drawn hearse made its way through the streets of her home town of Taunton, Somerset, crowds lined the street.
Pauline Richards spent a lifetime working in her community. And that community – generations of them – loved her.
We salute you as you go to your well-earned rest, Pauline. Your work ethic should be an inspiration to all of us.
Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz looked adorably happy together, despite losing in straight setsGetty
EMMA RADUCANU and Carlos Alcaraz are just good friends. We believe you. We know. Love means nothing in tennis.
But when the British number one woman and the world’s number one man played doubles at the US Open, you could not help noticing how deliriously happy this adorable couple looked together.
And they lost in straight sets.
Imagine how happy Raducaraz will look if they ever hit a winning streak.
DAME Emma Thompson boasts that Donald Trump asked her out on the day she divorced Kenneth Branagh and Trump had recently split from second wife Marla Maples.
Emma politely declined.
Thompson and Trump both went on to marry other people.
Wow – so that makes TWO bullets that Donald dodged.
FORMER SNP firebrand Nicola Sturgeon is still fighting for independence.
But now Sturgeon wants freedom from . . . Scotland.
“I can’t breathe freely in Scotland,” sighs Nicola. “This may shock many people to hear – but I love London!”
Sturgeon’s revelation came days before King Charles kicked off his summer at Balmoral Castle, totally rocking a knee-length kilt and an unfeasibly large sporran.
Something tells me that Scottish independence may be off the menu for a wee while.
