TRIBUTES are pouring in for a mum-of-five who suddenly died just weeks before Christmas.
Annie Humphreys, 47, was found dead on Thursday, to the devastation of those around her.
Mum-of-five Annie Humphreys, 47, tragically died last week
The mum’s death comes as a massive shock to those around her, and they say it will ripple through the Torpoint, Cornwall community.
Annie is now being remembered as the woman who always put everyone else first.
And now those around her are working to make sure her children – the youngest of which is 11 – can still have a Christmas.
Sophie Strevens, who called herself Annie’s “bonus daughter”, said the mum touched so many people’s lives and would be deeply missed.
She told CornwallLive: “Annie was the life and soul of the party. She was always the loud one. Always the happy one. She’d do anything for anybody.
“She was actually my sister-in-law but brought me up from a young age like a mum. Her death was very sudden and we’re still waiting on the coroner’s report.
“She was extremely loved and popular in Torpoint. Everybody knew her. It’s a massive shock to us all and we’re struggling to deal with what’s happened.”
“Kind-hearted” Annie tragically died on October 26 and now a fundraiser has been set up for her children.
Its aim is to raise funds for Christmas presents for the five of them. More than £1,000 has been raised to date.
The GoFundMe reads: “Annie was a kind-hearted, excitable woman who tragically lost her life on October 26, 2023. This was completely unexpected with her leaving her five children behind.
“Annie was a constant in all of her children’s lives and always gave her children everything she had.
“She’d always put her friends and children before herself and was there for anyone who needed her no matter what was going on in her own life.
“Unfortunately Annie won’t be able to give her younger children the Christmas they deserve and have always had so I’ve decided to start a GoFundMe to raise money for their Christmas presents.
“Every penny counts and would be deeply appreciated.”
