SIR Keir Starmer has hit the ground running on his first full week in office with a visit to Northern Ireland this morning.

The new prime minister is meeting with Northern Ireland’s First Minister and Deputy First Minister at Stormont ahead of his visit to Cardiff in the afternoon.

On Sunday, he kicked off his UK-wide tour with a speech from Edinburgh alongside Scottish leader Anas Sarwar.

It comes as the Tories admit they are in disarray with former home secretary Suella Braverman, viewed as one of the favourites to lead the party, stating the Tories face “an existential threat” from the rise of Nigel Farage’s Reform UK in last week’s election.
