NEWCASTLE have once again emerged as an option for Nicolas Jackson following the collapse of his Bayern Munich move.

Chelsea pulled the plug on Jackson’s loan deal with the German champions following Liam Delap’s hamstring injury on Saturday.

But while that deal is dead, the striker does not want to return to Chelsea and other moves are being explored.

Talks are taking place over a move to St. James’ Park following Alexander Isak’s £130m move to Liverpool.

Chelsea will now only sanction a permanent deal, with the valuation at around £60m.

The Blues had been exploring a deal to sign Sporting Lisbon’s Conrad Harder as a replacement.

But he is now on his way to Germany to sign for RB Leipzig.

Chelsea have bolstered their attacking ranks either way after recalling Marc Guiu from Sunderland.

The Spanish youngster moved to the north east on loan earlier this summer.

Guiu scored once in three games for the Black Cats.

But he will now get another go at cracking Stamford Bridge following six goals in 16 outings last term.

Newcastle, who have already spent £69m on Nick Woltemade, were interested in Jackson earlier this summer before turning their attention to Yoane Wissa.

However, Brentford rejected several Toon bids for the forward.

Wissa blasted the Bees in a scathing online statement over the weekend.

Yet it now appears that Jackson has emerged as Newcastle’s preferred choice on deadline day.
