KYREN WILSON and Shaun Murphy have been slammed by a fellow snooker star over their public rivalry on who’s best with the rest.
The duo have gone back and forth at the table and in the media about who is better with the equipment.

But ahead of his clash with Wilson at the British Open on Monday, world No. 14 Chris Wakelin dismissed the rivalry as silly, labelling it a ‘sausage competition.’
He told Metro: “There’s no easy games. It was a hell of a season last year, but I didn’t have an easy draw in every single tournament.
“That’s not how it works now. You have to play difficult players in every single round. Obviously you don’t get much tougher than the world number two, the self-proclaimed best rest player in the world.”
When asked if he agreed with that sentiment, Wakelin said: “I don’t get involved in all that.
“I think it’s quite pathetic, to be honest: ‘I want to be the best at something. I want to be the best at something that probably doesn’t make any difference to your game.’ I want to be the best all-rounder.
“It’s all a bit of a sausage competition, shall we say, I think the pair of them need to just grow up and find something else to talk about.
“Every time they get the rest out, they’re like, ‘I’m the best because I’ve potted one with it.’ There’s a life to be lived, guys. Get over it.”
Murphy fuelled the debate after winning the Masters in January when he deferred the title of best with the rest to his opponent Wilson.

His praise came despite having just potted a perfect 51 balls from 51 shots with the aid throughout the tournament at Alexandra Palace.
Murphy said: “I would actually say Kyren is better with the rest than I am.
“I think he’s a better rest player than me. I think he has a much wider range, a much fuller range of shots that he can play.
“I might be a bit more accurate as the stats this week show, but he has a much bigger range of shots he can play, and I’m surprised he ever misses with it. He’s incredible.”
Wakelin’s comments didn’t put either man off as they started their British Open tournaments on Monday.
Wilson cruised to a 4-1 victory over the 33-year-old, while Murphy had an equally comfortable time defeating Scot Ross Muir.
Also through is world No. 1 Judd Trump after a flawless win over Irishman Aaron Hill, and is now set to face Hill’s compatriot Leone Crowley on Thursday.
