A BOMB threat note was found during a TUI flight from Cardiff to the Canaries.
The entire plane, its passengers and all their luggage were swept by bomb squads and investigators after the alarming letter was spotted in the aircraft’s bathroom.

A crew member reportedly handed the letter to the pilot when the plane had flown over Portugal in the direction of the Canary Island of Lanzarote.
Spain‘s Civil Guard activated the security protocol after receiving a warning from the AENA control tower.
An extensive security operation then swung into action with specialists from the GEDEX (Explosives Deactivation Group), the Fiscal and Border Section, investigation units and citizen security patrols all intervening.
Air traffic controllers wrote on their X account: “The plane has been guided with the presence of firefighters to a siding where the passengers have had to identify their luggage.
“Landing and takeoff operations have been temporarily interrupted, which has caused some delays.”
The inspection found no explosive device on board.
Flight BY6422 landed at Lanzarote airport at around 10.55am on Thursday.
It had departed from Cardiff at 7.00am.
The departure of four scheduled flights was delayed as a result of the false alarm.
The Civil Guard has launched an investigation to determine who wrote the note.
The force stressed that this type of act is a serious crime, as it causes alarm, compromises public safety and forces specialised resources to be used.
This could have serious legal consequences for the person or people responsible.
It comes as a passenger on an easyJet flight in May forced pilots to land in Germany after shouting “bomb”.
The woman was reportedly travelling alone on the flight from Turkey to Manchester.

According to witnesses, she screamed that there was a “bomb” on the plane before lunging for the exit door and life jackets.
She was quickly “wrestled away” from the emergency door before the flight was diverted and landed in Frankfurt.
It also follows a Ryanair flight crashing into a barrier and suffering a badly smashed wing after landing at a Greek airport – while terrified passengers were still inside.
The Boeing 737 suffered “severe turbulence” during the flight, before those onboard heard a huge bang as the aircraft landed and collided with a barrier.
Emergency services were quickly drafted in, but petrified passengers were told to stay on the plane despite fire concerns following the wing wipeout – leaving those onboard the aircraft “baffled”.
