BRENTFORD’S former home Griffin Park is set to be transformed into 149 homes.

The redevelopment plans have received the green light from the council after being proposed last December.

Property developer EcoWorld will run the project, which plans to turn Griffin Park into 149 new homes.

As per their proposal, these would include 30 that are “available via discount market sale to meet the needs of local residents”.

EcoWorld managing director Robin Goodlet said: “Griffin Park holds a special place in the hearts of Brentford FC fans and the wider community

“We’re proud to be delivering a scheme that both honours that legacy and looks firmly to the future.

“This is a bold, ambitious plan that brings much-needed homes, green space, and connectivity to the area.

“With planning now secured, we’re excited to move forward and continue working with Hounslow Council, local residents, and Bees supporters to bring this vision to life.”

Griffin Park, which famously had a pub on each corner, was swiftly demolished following Brentford‘s exit in 2020.

The plans would see 41 houses built, in addition to a pair of six-storey apartment blocks, and a single four-storey block.

EcoWorld have also committed to creating 1770 square meters of public green space.

Brentford had played at Griffin Park since 1904, before their move to the G-tech Community Stadium.

All that remains of their former home is the club shop, which has been closed since 2020.
