THE Premier League’s smallest stadium is in line to almost DOUBLE in size after plans were announced for a huge renovation.

The changes, which were visualised with an artist’s impression in July, will include demolishing the current South Stand and building a new 7,000-seat grandstand.
The Cherries will also be filling in the stadium corners and extending the North and East Stands to add another 4,340 seats.
They will then add a new fan zone in the south-west corner of the ground.
Bournemouth are hoping to start work on the project this season.
According to the BBC, work will get underway between January and March 2026 if all goes to plan.
Bournemouth are currently working with the local council on the planning and consultation phase before construction can begin.
After planning permission is granted, the first job will be to install a new perimeter fence and turnstiles, an updated ticket office and a “small-scale extension” to the West Stand.
Internal refurbishments of the East and West Stands will also get underway.

The BBC report that Bournemouth hope to have that work completed by March 2026.
Construction on the new South Stand and building into the four corners of the stadium will not begin until August 2026.
And the expansion of the North and East Stands is scheduled for the summer of 2027.
The club hope to have the redevelopment completed in full by the start of the 2027-28 campaign.
Bournemouth are yet to be granted planning permission.
But councillor Rich Herrett, cabinet member for destination, leisure and commercial operations said: “The Council recognises how valuable AFC Bournemouth is to Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, with its continued success on the pitch, and their support for our local communities.
“We have a positive relationship with the football club and have enjoyed, like many, their recent successes on the pitch.
“We look forward to working with them on their plans to invest in the area and improve the matchday experience for fans at the Vitality Stadium, via the appropriate planning and democratic processes.”
