A PRISONER on remand for murder has been charged with killing a fellow lag.
James Desborough, 39, is accused of murdering inmate Steven Kempster, 65, who died following an incident at HMP Exeter in Devon earlier this week.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: “We received a report from the prison that Mr Kempster was found deceased within his cell at around 5.40am on Monday September 15.
“His next-of-kin have been informed.”
Senior crown prosecutor Helen Phillips, from the Crown Prosecution Service, added: “The Crown Prosecution Service has decided to prosecute James Desborough for the murder of Steven Kempster.
“Our prosecutors have established that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest to pursue criminal proceedings.
“We have worked closely with Devon and Cornwall Police as they carried out their investigation.”
Desborough is also on remand facing a separate charge of murder relating to another man, Daniel Coleman, 43, of Truro, Cornwall.
That case is proceeding separately.
Bearded Desborough, a former builder, is due to appear before Exeter magistrates on Thursday September 18.
A woman, in her 30s, from Newquay, was also arrested on suspicion of murder in relation to the Daniel Coleman investigation.
She remained on police bail amid inquiries.
