The Darts Regulation Authority (DRA) immediately intervened, provisionally banning Rodriguez from participating or attending events.
An interim measure is standard procedure for such a situation, as per the DRA disciplinary regulations.
Rodriguez will remain suspended until a full investigation and the subsequent disciplinary proceedings are completed.
Depending on the outcome, further sanctions could be imposed.
The Austrian has the right to appeal the suspension.
In accordance with DRA rules, he can challenge both the validation of the test and the decision to provisionally suspend him.
No further details are expected to be released while the investigation continues.
Rodriguez is considered one of the most promising talents in darts.
