His funeral is planned for this Friday at Manchester Cathedral, with fans invited to pay tribute.
But ahead of the ceremony, the boxing icon’s family have remembered him on a poignant day.
Today would have been his 47th birthday.
Hatton‘s 24-year-old son, Campbell, shared a touching tribute to his late dad on social media to mark the occasion.
He wrote: “Happy birthday, wish we was spending it together.”
Campbell had a close relationship with his dad and followed in his footsteps by becoming a professional boxer.
However, he retired from the sport in July.
The 24-year-old recently opened up about the tragic loss of Hatton, admitting it came as a complete shock for the entire family.
He said: “We are absolutely heartbroken… it was so unexpected.
“We had so many plans coming up, so it has knocked us for six, but obviously we are trying to be there for each other.”
Asked if he wanted a large turnout for the funeral, Campbell added: “That’s exactly what he would have wanted. He sees his biggest achievement as his fanbase, and that’s what he was most proud of.
“So what he’d want would be the streets to be full of people…because everything he did, he did for his fans.”
