TURF war gangsters Ross ‘Miami’ McGill and Steven Lyons have been nicked in Dubai as part of a desert swoop linked to Scotland’s raging underworld mayhem.
It’s understood McGill and the Lyons gang kingpin were arrested along with fellow hoods Stephen ‘Jimmy’ Jamieson and Steven Larwood, according to numerous well-placed sources.

Lyons gang kingpin Steven Lyons has been living in Dubai after years spent in Spain.
The warring hoods were lifted in their paradise bolthole in Dubai
A source said: “This operation has been brewing for months but they never saw it coming.”
It comes after the biggest explosion of underworld violence seen in Scotland for years with powerful drug lords pulling the strings from their UAE bolthole.
Sources said associates and loved-ones of the arrested thugs are now working with lawyers in a desperate bid to secure their release under strict bail conditions.
They were nicked in the early hours after their plush homes were surrounded by crack Dubai cops who initially took eight people into custody – thought to include the gangsters’ partners and girlfriends.
Steven Larwood has set up home in Dubai and lives close to Ross McGill.
However, four were later released without charge but McGill, Lyons, Jamieson and Larwood are now behind bars facing serious criminal allegations and a legal fight for freedom.
An insider said: “There are people frantically running about trying to sort out personal documents and contact lawyers in an effort to get them bailed but it’s not easy dealing with the authorities in Dubai.
“Their chances of getting out are slim because they are an obvious flight risk if they are liberated.”
Another source added: “They were all swept up in coordinated dawn raids by Dubai police.
“The police have gone through all their properties and vehicles and they are now behind bars.
“They arrested eight people but four were released while McGill, Lyons, Jamieson and Larwood are all now in custody.
“The word spread fast on the ground in Dubai and then back to Scotland where their gangland rivals in the Daniels clan are celebrating.
“It’s a massive development and it has been long overdue.
“These guys have been causing mayhem while believing they were untouchable in Dubai.
“But now they’ll have to think again and could be back in Scotland to face justice soon.”
The stunning development emerged as cops here are in the thick of Operation Portaledge to combat gang violence chaos that kicked off in March with former Union Bear leader McGill said to be a key instigator.
Cops have so far arrested almost 60 suspects in connection with around 80 firebombings, machete attacks and murder bids across Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The twist comes after we told how Jamieson – former best pal of Scotland’s number one gangster Jamie ‘Iceman’ Stevenson – had been nicked earlier this year after a gym bust-up with McGill.
We told how Jamieson, 42, was arrested by Dubai authorities but has since been bailed and now arrested again with the other Scots suspects.
Eddie Lyons Jnr, left, and Ross Monaghan were murdered in Spain in May.
Police Scotland launched a crackdown into the ongoing gang war that was triggered by claims associates of Edinburgh mob boss Mark Richardson, 38, had ripped off McGill in a cocaine deal using fake cash.
McGill, 31, of East Kilbride, recruited foot soldiers operating under the name Tamo Junto to carry out a wave of revenge attacks in Edinburgh.
The chaos then moved over to Glasgow where members of the notorious Daniel clan were targeted including boss Steven ‘Bonzo’ Daniel, 45.
How ‘expert’ female spotters helped plot Lyons & Monaghan execution
By Graham Mann
A CREW of “female spotters” helped plot the murders of Eddie Lyons Jnr and Ross Monaghan, underworld sources have claimed.
The women – linked to a Scots mob – monitored the movements of the Lyons gang pair before they were gunned down in a Costa Del Sol bloodbath.
It’s also claimed a Scots co-conspirator connected to mobs in Scotland, England and Spain supplied intel as part of a complex operation to take out the high-ranking duo.
Our insider claimed: “The seven spotters from north Glasgow had been recruited specifically because they are seasoned shoplifters.
“They are experienced operators who have travelled Europe extensively for years, stealing from major franchises, designer boutiques and blue chip jewellers.
“They could identify and provide surveillance on the primary target’s movements without a shadow of doubt.”

McGill became known for his role as a capo with Rangers ultras the Union Bears before he initially fled to Spain to dodge a looming court case in 2022.
He re-surfaced this year in Dubai as an aspiring drug lord who had risen through the criminal ranks with connections to Scotland’s most feared top tier crime gangs.
We told how flash cocaine Larwood had moved to Dubai and set up home in the same luxury enclave as McGill.
The 42-year-old vending machine boss is said to be raking in up to £3million a month shipping the white powder after linking up with the ex-Rangers ultras leader.
He has ties to Lyons who has also switched to the UAE after years in Spain where his two closest allies, brother Eddie Lyons Jnr, 46, and Ross Monaghan, 43, were shot dead in a brutal execution in May.
Lyons, 44, was said to have been left devastated by the double murder but he was unable to attend their joint funerals in July.
We told how cops here have played down any links to the ongoing gang violence in Scotland in contrast to authorities in Spain who said the shooter was a member of the Daniels gang – the Lyons’ arch enemies.
Michael Riley, 44, is accused by Spanish authorities of murdering the Lyons duo. Riley, of Huyton, Liverpool, is fighting extradition from the UK.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We are not in a position to confirm any arrests.”
