HIBS have announced that club hero Darren McGregor has been involved in a car accident.
They’ve revealed McGregor, 39, has undergone surgery in hospital and will now cruelly miss his OWN testimonial match.

McGregor joined Hibs in 2015 after spells at Cowdenbeath, St Mirren and Rangers.
He spent eight years with the Hibees as a player, making just shy of 200 appearances.
McGregor was part of the Hibs side that won the Scottish Cup in 2016 and the Championship title the following year.
He has remained with the Easter Road outfit since his playing career ended in 2023 and is now the head coach of the under-18s side.
To mark 10 years at the club, Hibs gave McGregor a testimonial match.
It’ll take place next month, with Bolton Wanderers heading to Easter Road on July 19.
But McGregor cruelly won’t be able to feature in the match.
Hibs have revealed he was involved in a vehicle collision on Friday evening.
He has now undergone surgery at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and is recovering.
While he won’t be able to play, McGregor will still be in attendance at the match.
Hibs say he will meet fans at the stadium and the hospitality suites on the day.
He’ll be doing this before, after and during the match.
Speaking at the time of the testimonial being announced, the committee chairman Graeme Cadger said: “We would like to thank Hibernian FC for their cooperation, Bolton Wanderers FC for agreeing to provide the opposition, and to David Gray for allowing Darren to play part of the match.
“We believe this will be a great occasion to celebrate the career of a Hibernian FC great, and we hope to see as many supporters there as possible to give Daz a moment to remember.”
Hibs, meanwhile, look set to sign Josh Mulligan from Dundee.
The 22-year old, who can play at right-back and midfield, had looked close to signing for Rangers previously.
The Dee were understood to be desperate to keep him on but it looks like he’s heading for Easter Road instead.
