THIS is the shocking moment a customer appears to pull her own hair out and place it in her dinner – in an attempt to swindle a refund out of the Pub.
Pub owner Tom Croft 32, refunded a customer £12.95 after they claimed they had found a hair in her beef roast dinner at the Observeatary in Blackburn.

But when Tom checked the CCTV to ensure his staff’s hair was tied back, he was left ‘disgusted’ after seeing the customer put her own locks in the food.
The shocking video shows a female customer whispering to a man, before pulling out a long piece of her black hair and placing it on the half-empty plate.
Tom claims that the customer ’caused a scene’ when she complained about the hair in her food to a staff member- which was why she received a full refund for the meal.
The pub has a five-star food hygiene rating which Tom says could have been in jeopardy if they did not find that CCTV footage.
He said: “I was disgusted and angry – very angry.
“There are people out there that are willing to put a business’ reputation and staff’s jobs at risk for a £12.95 meal.
“The kitchen team could have then thought it was their fault, when they had done absolutely nothing wrong.”
Tom’s Pub like many others in the UK is struggling during this cost-of-living crisis and incidents like these could have permanently damaged the reputation of the pub and potentially its future.
He added: “If we hadn’t found the CCTV footage, then our reputation would be a major concern and a big worry.
“People don’t want to eat in places where you find hair in food.
“We have a five-star food hygiene rating and adhere to all the food safety guidelines.
“But if we hadn’t found the CCTV footage, then it could have quite easily damaged our reputation.”
Tom has co-run the Pub for the last five-and-a-half-years but says he has never experienced anything like this before.
Tom has warned other businesses to watch out for those who might try similar antics to get money back.
Tom said: “I just want to obviously warn other businesses to keep being vigilant.
“You need to keep your eyes out, not just for these two people but incidents of a similar nature.
“There are people out there who are willing to chance this with another business.”
This comes after an A-list celebrity jumped behind the bar in a small village pub – leaving locals stunned as he pulled their pints.
