Suspect arrested in connection with ‘murder’ of man in Scots town

A MAN has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of a man in Kilwinning.

John Taylor, 44, was found seriously injured after the alleged targeted attack on Friday afternoon.

A number of people rushed to his aid when he was found injured after the alleged incident.

Emergency crews raced to the area but John was pronounced dead at the scene.

A major probe was launched into the death, with cops treating his death as an alleged murder.

Cops have since confirmed a 26-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with his death.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said:  “A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of John Taylor in Kilwinning.

“Mr Taylor was found with serious injuries on Pollock Crescent around 1.55pm on Friday, 18 October, 2024.

“He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
