However, a fault with the air conditioning on their flight sparked chaotic scenes on board the plane.

Monaco stars were forced to take off their clothes and sit in nothing but underwear as the cabin became a sauna mid-air.

The temperatures hit unbearable levels which left players drenched in sweat and fanning themselves in a desperate attempt to cool off.

Dutch star Jordan Teze took out his phone and began recording the incredible scenes.

Video shared to the 25-year-old’s Snapchat story showed the entire squad had stripped down to just their pants in an effort to cool down.

Players were later seen disembarking from the plane and standing on the runway half naked.

Monaco manager Adi Hutter revealed the decision was taken to remain at home and travel to Bruges tomorrow due to safety being concerned.

And despite the setback, Hutter remains optimistic of getting off to a winning start.

Hutter said: “Unfortunately, we were unable to leave today. I don’t know if this setback will have an impact, as we are professional and immediately changed our schedule.

“We will therefore travel to Bruges tomorrow, which is the best possible solution, especially since we already did so for the match in Auxerre on Saturday by traveling the same day.

“For technical reasons, it was impossible to travel, as everyone’s safety was not guaranteed.

“That’s why we decided, in agreement with (CEO) Thiago Scuro, to postpone our trip.”
