A WOMAN, 35, and two dogs have tragically been killed in a house fire as cops launch an urgent probe.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the horror blaze in Merlin Green, in the suburb of Sinfin, Derbyshire, at around 11.10am on Friday, September 6.

Derbyshire police officers discovered a 35-year-old woman and two dogs dead inside a property.

A joint investigation between the fire service and the force has been launched.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said at the time of the blaze: “Firefighters are currently dealing with an incident on Merlin Green in Sinfin.

“Crews from Nottingham Road, Kingsway and Ascot Drive were called to attend at 11.13am. Derbyshire police are also in attendance. No further information is currently available.”
