Trevoh Chalobah tops Dream Team rankings having ticked every box across first three Gameweeks

HERE at Dream Team HQ we have waited too long to praise Trevoh Chalobah (£4m).

The Chelsea defender is currently the joint-top points scorer in the game and therefore demands suitable appreciation.

Chalobah has amassed 35 points from just three outings so far this season.

Only Lucas Paqueta (£3.7m) can match that total among all players and the West Ham midfielder needed an additional Carabao Cup fixture to do so.

It’s no wonder Chalobah’s ownership has risen to 11.1%, making him the sixth-most selected defender at the time of writing.

The 26-year-old is currently the second-most popular recruit ahead of Gameweek 4 and perhaps with good reason.

Gaffers who bring him in during the international break will surely get ahead of a useful price rise given he registered a 17-point haul in Gameweek 3 — the highest tally among all assets.

Chalobah was credited with a fantasy assist against Fulham as it was him who forced Ryan Sessegnon (£3m) into a handball that led to the Blues’ penalty, successfully converted by Enzo Fernandez (£4.6m).

Granted, the Cobham graduate was a tad fortunate to claim clean sheet points as the PGMOL have subsequently admitted Josh King’s (£2.7m) goal should not have been overturned by VAR but such incidents are part and parcel of the game.

Truth be told, Chalobah can count himself unlucky that he did not make Thomas Tuchel’s latest England squad but his omission is good news for Dream Team managers as it reduces injury risk.

Having also contributed to a clean sheet against Crystal Palace and scored against West Ham, Chalobah has enjoyed a points-laden start to the 2025/26 campaign, benefiting from the unfortunate Levi Colwill’s (£3.5m) absence.

Looking forward, Chelsea are one of eight teams set to fulfil six fixtures across the next three Gameweeks.

Enzo Maresca’s side are due to take on Brentford and Bayern Munich in Gameweek 4 and while it’s a big ask to keep a clean sheet at the Allianz Arena against Harry Kane and company, Chalobah is clearly a viable selection.

Not even the most optimistic Dream Team bosses would expect Chalobah to maintain his place at the very top of the rankings for much longer but as a regular starter for one of the Premier League’s stronger teams (with a busy schedule ahead) he has to be considered a strong option.
