A HEARTBROKEN family have paid a touching tribute to their “devoted” dad who tragically died after a house fire.
A murder probe has been launched following the devastating death of the young father last Friday.
Daniel Gardner, 37, was rushed to hospital after a house fire broke out in Birmingham.
Despite the doctors’ attempts to save his life, the dad tragically died shortly after arriving.
West Midlands Police have since launched a murder investigation into the incident which occurred at 1.10am on September 19.
Mr Gardner’s grieving family have paid a touching tribute to their late father in a joint statement.
They said: “Daniel, devoted son, daddy, brother, and nephew. Words cannot describe the unbearable pain and devastation we all feel.
“You gave everything and never expected anything in return.
“Gives me comfort that you are with Nan & Granddad now who will once again look after you for me.
“My heart will always be broken but I hope I can find the strength to carry on without you.
“All my love is with you Dan. Miss you every minute of the day. Mum & Nick Ryan & Liv Elliot & Charlie Lynn & Phi.”
An 18-year-old man was arrested last night on suspicion of murder and currently remains in police custody.
It comes after detectives arrested Stephen Dale, 47, who was later charged with murder.
Dale appeared before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court this morning
He was remanded in custody ahead of a further hearing tomorrow.
A police spokesperson told Birmingham Live: “Our thoughts remain with Daniel’s family at this tragic time and we are offering them our full support as our investigation continues.”
They have urged anyone with information to contact them via 101, quoting log 174 of September 19.
