THE Met Office is warning of frost tonight – and with more to come as temperatures plunge below freezing.
Weather forecasters have put people on alert for chill conditions in some parts of the UK, following chaos caused by Storm Ciarán.

The Met Office says the mercury could plunge as low as -1.3C in the Aviemore area of the Scottish Highlands.
And similar conditions are expected next week from this Saturday onwards, as well as in the week beginning November 21.
Experts have warned of potential torrential rain and strong winds across the UK during this coming Remembrance Weekend.
Downpours are tipped for Scotland’s western coast on Thursday, and nationwide memorial services are expected to be disrupted by the weather over the weekend as wet and windy conditions spread.
Another tempest is due a week tomorrow, with torrid weather driven by low-pressure from the Atlantic.
The Met Office has now issued a new update on what’s likely in the meantime.
They told people today would have “showers dying out during the evening” – but followed by “patchy fog and frost forming under the clear spells”.
Much of the country should face “wet and windy weather reaching most areas from the west overnight”.
Tomorrow is expected to bring not only occasional sunny spells but also strong winds and showers of rain – “some of these turning heavy”.
The Met Office also predicts “sunshine and showers on Thursday”, including “heavy and thundery downpours”.
And while these should ease on Friday, Saturday is said to be “frosty”.
Rain is said to be ahead every day this week.
The gloomy conditions come after recent storms wreaked 104mph hurricane winds and prompted an amber warning of danger to life.
Some 19 flood warnings and 81 alerts remained in place this morning.
The Met Office posted on X, formerly Twitter, that today would bring “a chilly start for parts of the north and east” as well as scattered showers in eastern England areas.
It also suggested: “Get the hot water bottles ready because the nights will be turning increasingly chilly during the week ahead.”
The Somerset Levels have been flooded at Muchelney while fields were also submerged at Welney in Norfolk.
Cars on Brighton seafront and walkers on Westminster Bridge in London struggled to make their way through deluges, which also hampered fireworks displays this past weekend.
Punters called for refunds after branding Birmingham’s largest display a “total disaster” at Edgbaston cricket ground.
Advice has been offered on cold winter payments which could be available in the coming months.
