Vehicle ‘smashes into school’ with woman in her 40s arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving

A WOMAN has been arrested after a vehicle ploughed into a school.

The vehicle collided with Alderman Knight School in Ashchurch, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, at around 8.25am this morning.

No injuries have been reported however a woman, in her 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

A statement from Tewkesbury Police said the building was being evacuated so that any structural damage can be assessed.

Alderman Knight School is a special needs facility which shares the same site with Tewkesbury Academy.

Laurence Robertson, previously the Conservative MP for Tewkesbury, praised the school in Parliament in January this year, along with the Milestone School.
