A BRITISH Airways pilot who was hauled off a plane and brawled with cops while she was allegedly drunk has been suspended.
The Boeing 787 veteran flier was a passenger on the jet when she became “disruptive” and the captain was forced to abandon take off.
The 51-year-old was on a 57-minute hop from Edinburgh to Heathrow, where she was set to take the controls of another aircraft.
A source claimed she acted “as if very drunk” and was recognised by airline staff as she hit the booze on May 30.
Her behaviour was said to be so bad, the captain of Flight BA1457 was informed and he immediately abandoned take off.
A source told The Sun: “She was being abusive and incredibly belligerent to other passengers.
“It got so heated that the flight-deck was informed and the captain decided to eject her.”
Police were called to meet the Airbus A319 as it returned to the stand.
The source said: “She then began flailing her arms at officers as they tried to arrest her.”
The pilot, said to have “passionately” resisted arrest, was suspended immediately.
Flight BA1457 took off an hour and a half late.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “A woman was arrested and charged in connection with aviation offences and assault.”
BA told The Sun yesterday: “It would be inappropriate to comment during a police investigation.”
