In a moment straight out of a blooper reel, the Bala Town goalkeeper tried to clear his lines with a routine punt upfield but the brutal winds of Storm Amy had other ideas.
Instead of flying forward, the ball was blasted straight back towards him by a monstrous gust. What happened next had jaws on the floor.
As the ball hung awkwardly in the air, a Bala defender raced back to try and deal with the danger, only to head it clean over his own keeper and into the net.
Cardiff Met couldn’t believe their luck.
The clip quickly went viral, with fans stunned by the storm-assisted howler.
One fan said: “At least the goalie gets an assist to his name.”
Another joked: “That defender thought he was doing the right thing – Amy had other plans.”
A third wrote on X: “Amazing.”

The freak own goal gifted Cardiff Met a 1-0 lead in the first half, as Storm Amy battered the pitch with vicious winds and swirling rain.
Conditions were already difficult, but the blunder summed up just how unpredictable the match had become.
Even the commentary team struggled to keep it together with the cold and wind a huge distraction.
Despite the surreal scenes, credit went to Cardiff Met for capitalising on the chaos and holding their nerve in a game that will be remembered for all the wrong — or right — reasons, depending on your point of view.
The goal, though accidental, helped the home side claim a vital advantage and sparked a wave of reactions online.
