And the Manchester United legend has hinted that he will be doing something he has never done before with the new club.

Rooney joined BBC Sport for their coverage of the FA Cup final and was asked about his new role with Argyle, which announced earlier today.
He said: “I’m really excited. It was a thorough process with a lot of managers interviewed for the job.
“Thankfully the club found that I was the best person for the job and I can’t wait to get started.”
