A WEDDING entertainment business has gone bust wrecking hundreds of couples’ big day plans.

The Best Singing Waiters hired staff who would burst into song at social events.

Jamie Reeves is boss of failed firm The Best Singing Waiters

It was run by parent company Solfan1, which went into liquidation earlier this month.

It means about 500 couples, some of whom forked out more than £1,600, have been told they will not get their money back.

Rebecca Clitheroe and partner Harry paid £1,400 in July 2022 for their wedding in August this year.

Rebecca, 27, from Norwich, said: “It’s devastating.”

Jodie Crouch, 29, and partner Steve Burrell, 53, from Reading, paid £1,680.

Jodie said: “We feel robbed.”

The 14 couples we spoke to say their main contact was company manager Jamie Reeves.

Singers were hired on a self- employed basis and many say they are owed cash by Solfan1, which was based in South Shields.

In April, a new company, called Decameron Events, was set up.

Evidence seen by this newspaper shows The Best Singing Waiters transferring at least one client across to it.

The Sun on Sunday approached Jamie Reeves for comment.
